Uplifting the youth
through education

How it works

We currently run an academic program for grade 00 to 12 in Soweto, Mamelodi, and Potchefstroom.

Volunteers work mostly as teachers, with up to 5 tutors assisting per classroom. We try our best to pair all new teachers with experienced volunteers. Classwork (of which the focus is math and English) will also be provided. If you’d love to join, but don’t quite see yourself as a teacher, our sign up also allows for help on the terrain and with the food program.

Volunteers are invited so sign up to weekly teaching on our WhatsApp groups (don’t worry – these groups are set to admin only to avoid messages piling up in your chat). Though we would love to see our kids on a more regular basis, teaching programs currently run once a week in our various locations.

Volunteers meet up at one of our lift club points or at the selected school. We focus on instilling basic principals of maths and English. We also aim to create a feeling of self-worth in focusing on Kingdom principals such as patience, love and kindness. This example of a volunteer briefing is jam-packed with insightful information that should help you get a feel of what to expect as a volunteer.
